Application Guidelines

Application Guidelines

• Surface Preparation: Substrates must be solid, smooth, clean, dry, dust-free, and free of mold. Wall moisture content should be ≤ 10%; surface pH should be less than 9.
• Tools & Roller Nap: Use quality brushes and rollers.
• Recommended roller nap:
1. 10 mm (≈ 3/8") — standard use.
2. 5 mm (≈ 3/16") — for finer finishes.
3. 15 mm (≈ 5/8") — for rough or uneven surfaces.
• Application Conditions: Apply when temperature is between 10–32 °C (50–90 °F) and relative humidity is below 85%. Avoid painting in rain, heavy fog, or dusty conditions.
• Mixing: Stir paint thoroughly before use. Do not add water or any thinner.
• Boxing for Color Consistency: When using more than one can of the same color, combine (“box”) them. Start by using half of can #1, then pour can #2 into #1 and mix well. Repeat as needed to ensure uniform color.
• Rolling Technique: Apply paint in a “W” pattern, then cross-roll to level out. Each pass should cover an area roughly four times the roller length. Overlap each pass by about one-third of the roller width to avoid lap marks. Maintain a wet edge and lift off lightly at the end of each stroke for a uniform finish.
• Coat System: Typically, one coat of primer plus two coats of finish paint will achieve the best results. Allow at least 4 hours between coats (follow product label for recoat times).
• Touch-Ups / Additional Paint: For the final coat, avoid mixing batches on the same wall. If new paint is needed, repaint the entire wall for a consistent finish. Work smoothly and complete each wall in a single pass when possible.
• Dry & Cure Times: Surface is ready for light use after 24 hours. Washable after about 2 weeks. Full hardness and durability are reached in approximately 30 days.
• Cleanup: Clean tools and spills promptly with warm water and mild soap. When switching products or after use, wash brushes and rollers immediately. Make sure tools are free of excess water before reuse.
• Wet Areas: In bathrooms and shower rooms, use water-resistant joint compound or skim coat on the substrate to prevent moisture damage.
• Leftover Paint: Store remaining paint in a tightly sealed container with minimal air space. Label and keep in a cool, shaded location for future touch-ups. Properly sealed paint can usually be stored for 2 years or more.
