“This City, That Color” Award gala by AD × MAjOR

On December 17, 2021, the “This City, That Color” Award Gala—co-hosted by Architectural Digest China and MAjOR—was held at Liangshe Night Banquet in Shanghai.

The evening began with opening remarks from AD China’s Editor-in-Chief, Xu Lvyun, highlighting the competition’s success and the cultural richness reflected in the submissions. Awards were presented to 10 standout designers whose work captured the essence of color and space in contemporary Chinese design.

Following the ceremony, a color-themed gala dinner brought together over 50 guests, including AD100 YOUNG designers, editorial teams, and industry leaders. Speeches from Mr. Gao Zhiguo, President of Major Benjamin Moore, and AD’s editorial leadership expressed shared gratitude and a continued commitment to advancing design culture in China.

More than a celebration, the event reaffirmed a shared vision: to elevate Chinese design through color, creativity, and collaboration.
